The Acre by Acre Project is a nationwide movement rooted in the mission of Plots with Purpose — to support homesteading, sustainable living, and land stewardship by symbolically gifting one square foot at a time.

It begins in Virginia, where real working homesteads open their land to symbolic ownership — gardens, chicken coops, flower beds, and more — each square foot representing a small but tangible contribution to something bigger. As the project grows, it will expand acre by acre into every U.S. state, creating a network of supported homesteads and purposeful giving.

This project isn’t about real estate — it’s about real roots. Every square foot sold helps fund regenerative agriculture, food access, and education through our nonprofit partner, Here We Grow Community Homesteads, empowering new homesteaders and preserving the land for generations to come.
